Description
It will be hard to believe that the theme of this issue was decided on the very day we signed off to print. It was at the last moments that I realised the common thread in all the features…as though I had briefed the contributors and featured women…but I had not. I believe the Lord had private conversations with each woman for they all share the same message.
With this issue, I witnessed the Holy Spirit at work like never before.
In hindsight, it makes sense, for the Lord has recently captured my mind with Luke 10. He says to me “Be concerned about only the necessary”. He said, “The one thing necessary that you choose becomes your portion.” The portion that Mary chose by sitting at the feet of Jesus was the best, and Jesus said, ”it shall not be taken from her”. I ponder: what could these women in this issue be nudging us to do?
This Scripture challenges me to be careful with the activities I take up and
the people who participate. The question always is, will any possible outcomes of the activity be a portion I am willing to experience? Will I be comfortable if Jesus said to me that the particular portion will not be taken from me? This refers to work and personal relationships and activities; any other intake that influences or impacts any aspect of my being, be it emotional, physical, mental, the future and present.
This teaches me to say ‘No’ a bit more, to stay away more often, to limit the tongue and be surrounded by the Word through blazing Gospel music and Sermons instead of silence, which may leave my mind to think of those things that I Pray to God to keep out of my physical and mental space, such as fear, doubt, negative self-talk…
October leaves us with just a few weeks to meet our goals, and most of us are concerned with much. But are we choosing the right things? Are we comfortable with the potential outcome being our portion – a portion that will not be taken from us?
Do we stop to ask, “What is important for now, for this moment, this season and the Calling on my life?” Failure to answer this question may be hurtful – in the long run and/or the short run. Are you able to answer the question?
I have been concerned with plenty, including this issue of arise Magazine, launching the Christian Women Business Network in Limpopo and preparing for the Entrepreneurs Year End Function coming up on December 2 in Gauteng.
This is on top of family and other life demands, but all these deliver my purpose.
In this issue, get ready to learn about positive Financial Heritage for our loved ones by Linda Ndenze and Amanda John on page 30. mgiRas sensitises us to the necessity for Business Audit and Quality Assurance for business integrity and growth potential. I am excited about the new businesses taking space in the magazine, Hatz by Jeanie, ABSA Bank, Iintombi Domestic & Corporate Delta Services, Fairy Bump, Fivth Skin, Rehoboth Bags and more. I urge you to consider them first before you shop anywhere else. That is, after all how we grow grow each other’s businesses.
Please enjoy the read. May it Bless You as producing it has Blessed me.
Stay Blessed,
To you, through me, from God our Daddy!
