About this Issue

We have a great privilege in the Lord to be able to publish this special issue of arise Magazine. It has never been easy as we are still in our growth stage as a business and Ministry. We THANK GOD for every issue published is a critical milestone reached.

This issue is special in a unique way. People have been trying to convince me to be on the cover for a long time, but it never felt appropriate, relevant or necessary. I always believed that my Boss, God, would be the one to decide and instruct. 22 issues later, He has given the instruction.

I’m grateful and humbled to share the cover with my, Mom Bamme Sanna Modise. Shooting this cover was a joyful and special experience thanks to my ‘sisterpreneurs’ Sethu who did the make up and creative director -Tabs are the reason we look sooooooo beautiful!!

I’m so grateful that they share pieces of their life and entrepreneurship journeys with us on page 14 and 31.

The part of my mom’s and I’s life that the cover feature zooms into highlights a few Scriptures for me: Jeremiah 1:5: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to nations.

Romans 8:28: All good things work together for good for those who love God. Honour your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12

Let me know which Scripture comes to mind after you read our story on page 10.

This issue is another beautiful issue with a buffet of women-related topics like we have not done before. We start with the different seasons experienced by women shared by Pastor Lusanda Dlamini, the role of Christian women in Politics by Rev Michelle Tryon, Gender Based Violence covered in Author and Activist Lauren’s piece, to the impact of war on the family and motherhood by Gaelle Munayi, and some more.

We do not leave out the important part of business development and growth and partner with MGIRAS to highlight the importance of knowing our business numbers. Be on the lookout for the Established Businesswomen Networking Summit coming up in July this year. It is a special celebration of the 7th anniversary of arise Mag and the Christian Women Business Network and we invite you to celebrate with us.  I hope you are inspired, empowered and Blessed by this issue, just as working on it Blessed us.
